I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Illinois State University, where I teach courses ranging from undergraduate principles of economics to graduate applied econometrics.

I am a public finance economist with primary research interest in tax compliance and tax reforms. I am also interested in topics such as sin taxes, decentralization, structural reforms, and public finance in developing countries.

I am grateful to the National Science Foundation and Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy for research grants and to the Internal Revenue Service and South African Revenue Service for research collaboration and access to tax returns data.

My research has been published in Journal of Public Economics, Economic Inquiry, American Economic Association: P&P, Southern Economic Journal, Open Economies Review, and American Economist, among others.

You can find more about my research here. Feel free to reach out to me, if you are interested in talking about my research or yours.
